Caldy Manor Care Home on the Wirral

We're getting ready for Christmas with wrapping some presents up for other residents. "I was impressed with the genuineness of the care and how deeply it was embedded in the culture. My impression was that this caring attitude was so strong it would survive a change at the senior leadership level. An example was the tenderness with which a carer held and stroked the hand of a very immobile lady. Wow! It was not the only example of this kind. The compassion came shining through." "The two weeks respite not only did my father much good but also gave my mother a much-needed rest. He was extremely well looked after in very comfortable surroundings by extremely professional, patient and cheerful staff." Our fantastic catering team are always on hand to prepare tasty and nutritious food with fresh, seasonal produce that is cooked to the highest of standards. Read our brochure'A-Z Directory of Demential Care'for more information on our support.

Caldy Manor has good links with health professionals in the area, bringing in GPs, district nurses, dieticians, memory nurses and physiotherapists, as required. With a few exceptions, accommodation in a care home cannot be bought or rented like retirement housing. Think of them more like full-board hotel accommodation with 24 hour care available. A care home is a residential setting where a number of older people live, usually in single rooms or hotel-style suites, because they need regular or continuous access to care.

The CQC is the sector's official regulator and an executive non-departmental public body of the Department of Health and Social Care. Respite is also referred to as a short care home stay and may range from a few days to a couple weeks. Here you'll find everything you need to know about later life, from easy-to-understand care guides to expert advice on funding. "I received a very pleasant welcome from the staff. Everyone has been helpful and friendly. A very pleasant and enjoyable experience." "Such a tremendous shock. So friendly and all made it like a family experience for me and my family as visitors. This has been an eye-opener, so good and different from previous experiences for the better. Staff have been absolutely amazingly fabulous. Thanks to all."
